ABOUT
Hi! My name is Ryan, I'm a professional game programmer with 4 years of school and work experience.
My passion for creating video games started in high school, where I took several introductory computer science courses and began to explore creating small text-based games. Since then I've made a world of progress, but I'm still working to expand my skills and become the best programmer I can be.

Education:
I'm a graduate of Eastern College, where I took their Video Game Development course and passed with an over 90% average. There I learned the basics of programming and created projects in Unity, Unreal, and Pico-8. I made games for PC and mobile platforms, learned to work both in a team and solo, and was introduced to source control via GitHub.

Professional Experience:
As part of the above course, I completed a 4 month internship with an indie video game company, after which they asked me to continue working with them as a freelancer. Since 2022 I've been creating features for several as-yet unreleased Unity projects.
These features have included a framework for multiplayer gameplay via Photon, a leaderboard and item-persistence system via PlayFab, and both a simple dialogue and save/load system using JavaScript parsing.

A bit about me:
Outside of programming, I enjoy reading and writing, learning languages, and reading and watching videos about science and history. I have been described as a walking encyclopedia because of the many 'fun facts' I love to share with friends. I also have a history of volunteering with a local organization focused on protecting renters' rights, which I am very passionate about.

I am currently open to job offers. Please send a message via the contact page, or directly via email.
